In December 2015 an RTE reporter named Teresa Mannion stood in the middle of Storm Desmond on the west coast of Ireland and shouted three instructions into the rain: don't make unnecessary journeys, don't take risks on treacherous roads, and don't swim in the sea. She meant every word of it. Ireland has quoted her ever since. In August 2026 the audio found a second life on TikTok and went everywhere, and somewhere in the resurfacing the instructions quietly changed jobs. Stripped of the weather they stopped being safety advice and became something closer to a worldview — a complete, unimprovable case for staying exactly where you are. Don't make unnecessary journeys covers the wedding three states away, the reservation at nine, the thing you agreed to in March. All journeys are unnecessary is the position you arrive at after enough of them. The typography does the rest. Slab serif and heavy sans, set the way public information posters were set when a government still expected you to read them from across a road. Wear it as a warning to others or as a statement of intent. Both readings are correct.
