Six Seven Meme Hats

It came from a Skrilla song, attached itself to LaMelo Ball because he is listed at 6 foot 7, and then escaped into every middle school in America. Dictionary.com named it Word of the Year. Its own lexicographers could not define it. Roughly it means "so-so," or "maybe this, maybe that," or nothing at all, and part of the appeal is that it mystifies adults on contact. Teachers have responded with point deductions, essays, and outright classroom bans, which is historically the fastest way to make a phrase permanent. So this collection has two customers and they are not the same person. There is the kid who wants 6-7 across the front in heavy block caps. And there is the teacher who wants I SURVIVED SIX SEVEN, or NO 6-7 IN THIS CLASSROOM, stitched with the weary authority of somebody who has already assigned the essay and moved on. Both are here, in eleven hat colors. If you are over twenty and reading this with a growing sense of unease, that is the intended effect. Ask a 6th grader. They will not give you a straight answer.
