These hats are for adult skate night regulars, quad loyalists and roller derby players. The badges stay plain, ROLLER SKATING and ROLLER DERBY, the second arched like a jersey for a sport of two-minute jams with one jammer and four blockers per team. I HIT LIKE A GIRL is for the blockers. THEY SEE ME ROLLIN' already turns up on lists of roller derby slogans, and QUAD SQUAD is for anyone with four wheels on each foot. The rest are the confessions skaters already put in their captions: skating backwards better than driving forwards, skating great while still learning how to stop, and calling every spill floor work instead of a fall, rink rash and derby kisses (the bruises) included. ROLLER RINK KID AT HEART is for anyone who grew up on the rink floor and came back for adult night, a rink tradition with roots in Black skating culture.
