Recliner Hats

The recliner is the one piece of furniture with a single owner. One dad writing about his chair gave the rule plainly: per tradition, kids aren't allowed to use dad's recliner, it's the one sacred space in the house. Furniture retailers sell the chair as a Father's Day gift, and La-Z-Boy has been at it since 1927, when cousins Edward Knabusch and Edwin Shoemaker started out in Monroe, Michigan, with a wood-slat porch chair. The name was chosen by a contest, and the brand is now the word many people use for any recliner. These recliner hats are for the man in the chair. RECLINER and LA-Z-BOY are the plain badges, and DAD'S CHAIR claims the territory. The longer designs carry the bits: an office with its hours after dinner, an understanding between a man and his recliner, a chairman's title, a one-owner listing with 200,000 miles on it, and the best work of the day done fully reclined.
