Philly Special Hat
Philadelphia has a vocabulary that doesn't export: a jawn is anything -- an object, a person, a situation -- and wooder is just how the city says water. The city also owns its reputation rather than apologizing for it. Philadelphia Eagles fans booed and threw snowballs at a man dressed as Santa Claus at Franklin Field in 1968, and the city has worn that story proudly for decades instead of living it down. After the Eagles' Super Bowl LII win, the city greased the Broad Street light poles ahead of the parade specifically to stop fans from climbing them -- fans climbed them anyway, and it is now civic tradition. Philly Special is the name the city gave the trick-play touchdown that won that same Super Bowl, a four-word phrase every Eagles fan already knows cold.
This collection runs on that specificity instead of generic hometown pride. WIZ WIT names the cheesesteak order itself -- Cheez Whiz, with onions -- rather than describing a cheesesteak in general. HOAGIE is the city's own word for a sub sandwich, used nowhere else with this much conviction. GO BIRDS is simply what you say, the shortest and most repeated fan chant the city has. CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE is Philadelphia's own name, translated straight from the Greek the city was founded on.
Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. Order it wiz wit, and don't ask for a napkin.
