PNW is one of the biggest regional-identity merch keywords going, worn with equal pride by Washington and Oregon natives and the transplants who adopted the rain along with the mountains. No other collection in the catalogue carries it: Funny Hiking and Funny Camping cover the activities, and California Hats is the only other live state-pride set, built from place names rather than in-group jokes. This set is built the opposite way, from the jokes locals already tell on themselves. The badges name the region plainly - PNW, PACIFIC NORTHWEST, UPPER LEFT USA, CASCADIA, the bioregional name that treats the Pacific Northwest as its own country before it is a set of states. The sentence lines carry the self-aware half: a line about the mountain being visible standing in for a whole day's forecast, a dry claim about never owning an umbrella, a deadpan complaint about the vitamin D the sun never delivers, and the socks-with-Birkenstocks uniform worn without irony. BIGFOOT SAW ME BUT NOBODY BELIEVES HIM keeps the region's signature cryptid as a punchline about being disbelieved rather than a sighting claim, and MOSS GROWS ON ME closes it out as the one line short enough to read as a mutter. Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. The two strongest non-basic lines, THE MOUNTAIN IS OUT and BIGFOOT SAW ME BUT NOBODY BELIEVES HIM, each get a second colorway.
