Oddities & Curiosities Collector Hats

Oddities is the collectors' word for skulls, bones, taxidermy, wet specimens and the rest of the strangeness that fills a cabinet of curiosities. The Discovery and Science Channel show Oddities premiered on November 4, 2010, set in Obscura Antiques & Oddities, and the hobby now has its own touring marketplace. The Oddities & Curiosities Expo, founded in Oklahoma by Michelle and Tony Cozzaglio, is visiting 40 cities in the United States and Canada in 2026, and has grown from 25 vendors in Tulsa to more than 200. Vendors sell taxidermy, preserved animal specimens, bones and funeral collectibles. The collectors are plain about the appeal. A Maine collector told the Bangor Daily News that she found some and discovered she was not a freak, and that if you like the gothic aesthetic you will probably like oddities. A collector in the Boston Globe called it curiosity, plain and simple, and said that having these items shows him there is a larger world out there. The scene's label is ethically sourced. These hats speak for that world. Badges name the hobby: ODDITIES COLLECTOR, CABINET OF CURIOSITIES, WET SPECIMEN COLLECTOR. The longer lines cover fourteen skulls in one household, plants jealous of taxidermy, finding your people at the expo, and three questions a shopper asks at a booth. ETHICALLY SOURCED BONES and the household line each get a second colorway. Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. A gift for anyone whose shelves hold more specimens than books.
