The post passed 992,000 notes in two years, and the line became the internet's standing complaint about school: how do I pay taxes, how do I get a job, well, mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. The full powerhouse sentence is stitched the way the meme says it, and I AM THE POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL claims the title for the wearer, the same punchline as the 2017 r/Jokes line about changing your name in prison.
