Army Dad The Drill Sergeant Finished What I Started Hat
Boot camp graduation is the moment these hats are for. At Parris Island the week runs Wednesday Family Orientation, Thursday Family Day and Friday Graduation, and Family Day gives new Marines their first on-base liberty with family. Recruits who are recycled graduate later, so families are told to book refundable travel, and Marine Parents (MPTA) funds trips for parents with dozens of announcements headed "MPTA Helps Marine Mom/Dad ... Attend Graduation." Before any of that comes the mail: a Military Times list of military-mom moments pictures a son handing his mother a bundle of envelopes tied with a boot lace and thanking her for hundreds of letters. A Marine mom writing for Guideposts put it plainly: "The military has an acronym for everything."
These military mom and military dad hats start with three badges, ARMY MOM, MARINE DAD and NAVY MOM, the branch-and-parent phrases people search for. The sentence designs carry the rest of it: the piece of a parent's heart that wears combat boots, the drill sergeant who finished what the parent started, the free haircut, the 87 letters to boot camp. The USAFA shop sells an Air Force Mom hat, and the Air Force line here is the one with a joke on it. The heart-in-combat-boots and drill sergeant lines each get a second colorway.
Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. Wear one to Family Day, or give one to the parent who has learned the acronyms.
