MBA: Mediocre But Arrogant Hat
An MBA comes with its own language, and its graduates are the first to mock it. Poets&Quants collected the goofiest terms from business school students: MBA read as Masters in Buzzword Accumulation, or Mediocre But Arrogant, Manager By Accident and Me Before Anyone. Students describe the networking-reception huddle around one recruiter as the circle of death, and say you're initiated once you can answer anything with it depends. The degree is also a very common one: more graduate degrees in business are awarded each year than in any other US field, in the tens of thousands.
The value is its own debate. A Blind commenter argued the network is overstated and the real benefit is the doors opened by having those three special letters, while another said the degree is only worth it for brand name, campus recruiting and networking. Gift guides, meanwhile, joke that graduates have conquered case studies, caffeine dependency and unhealthy love of Excel shortcuts.
These MBA graduate hats take the degree's side, jokes included. Badges carry the search terms, and the longer designs are about buzzwords, case studies, tuition math and the 2x2 matrix. Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. Give one to the graduate who finally has the three letters.
