Larp I Hit People With Pipe Insulation Hat
LARP stands for live action role playing: grown adults in capes and padded armour, acting out a fantasy world in a field, a park or a rented camp. The scene has its own language. Players have in-game names, call their damage out loud, and swing foam weapons, which one glossary defines as relatively harmless weapon props for combat simulation. Some groups, Darkon among them, say they are a smidge different because they actually hit each other with padded weapons.
The word has also escaped the field. Slang explainers now define larping as pretending to be something you are not, and a 2026 national headline read "All of Gen Z is larping." The most famous LARP video of all time is older than that: in 2003 a guy in a kilt screamed LIGHTNING BOLT in the Massachusetts woods.
These LARP hats are for people who play it straight. You get the LARPER and LARP badges, the three-time lightning bolt chant, a foam sword with a body count, a cardio argument against the tabletop, and the boast about hitting people with pipe insulation. The collection sits beside our D&D, Renaissance Faire and Comic-Con & Cosplay pages without repeating them. Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. Wear one to the next event, or to the supermarket in full character.
