Jimothy Summer Raccoon Hats

In July 2026 a Seattle woman posted a video of a raccoon running across her Ballard backyard. He was shaped wrong — short, round, low to the ground, the result of a congenital condition called short-spine syndrome — and he was completely unbothered about it. She called him Jimothy. The internet did not ask any follow-up questions. Three weeks later he had an honorary degree from the University of Washington, a stained-glass portrait titled "St. Jimothy" headed for Seattle City Hall, a bobblehead, a mural, an unknown number of tattoos, and a City Council proclamation declaring the summer of 2026 officially Jimothy Summer. He was named Washingtonian of the Day. Two baseball teams — the Mariners and, inevitably, the Rocket City Trash Pandas — scheduled Jimothy Nights, and the Mariners had to add a second one. Google put in an easter egg. He remains a wild animal who has no idea any of this happened and is, presumably, still going through somebody's compost. These are hats for that. Some of them say his name, arched like a varsity jacket, because that is the correct way to letter a local legend. Some of them are for Ballard specifically, and for the people claiming they saw him first. And some are just about raccoons — the night shift, the trash pandas, the little guys — because Jimothy Summer ends but the raccoons do not.
