I Can't Fix Stupid But I Can Insure It Hat
Insurance is a job built on imagining the worst day for a living. The Bureau of Labor Statistics counted 41,090 claims adjusters, appraisers, examiners and investigators working inside insurance agencies and brokerages in May 2023, up from 26,340 in 2017, and that is only the agency slice, before the carriers. Add agents, brokers and underwriters and it is a large sales-and-service culture that buys swag, trades jokes on forums like insurance-forums.com and r/adjusters, and gives gifts to teammates.
The humor already circulating in the trade is dry and a little grim. I CAN'T FIX STUPID BUT I CAN INSURE IT is a phrase already sold on Etsy shirts, and trampoline claims are a recurring liability-adjuster theme, which is where the trampoline line comes from.
These insurance hats cover both sides of the desk. Two badges name the jobs, INSURANCE AGENT and CLAIMS ADJUSTER, and the sentence designs carry the profession's logic: nothing happening is the business model, the worst case scenario is the day job, and somebody has to read the fine print. Every line is written in the wearer's own voice, as a flag to wear at the agency, a convention or the family barbecue.
Each design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. Wear one to the office, or give one to the agent who has an answer for every what-if.
