I've Been Kicked By Better Horses Farrier Hat
A farrier works under a horse that decides, one hoof at a time, whether to stand still. Horses in one Vermont profile weighed more than 1,300 and 1,700 pounds, and a draft horse can run about 19 hands and up to a ton. American Farriers Journal puts it plainly: shoeing is "one of the toughest jobs in the horse industry, affecting the neck, shoulders, back and knees." A Vermont farrier calls it "a really stupid job" with a laugh, then gets on with the next hoof. The creed is NO HOOF, NO HORSE, and the method is old: a farrier on StoryCorps says it is done "the same way the Romans taught us 2500 years ago." National Farriers Week, founded by American Farriers Journal in 1998, runs July 5-11 in 2026.
These farrier hats are for the people under the horse and the barns that wait on them. FARRIER and HORSESHOER are the badges. The sentence designs cover being kicked by better horses, a thousand pounds leaning on the wearer, the difference between a farrier and a blacksmith, a brotherhood of bent backs, and showing up sometime Tuesday. NO HOOF NO HORSE and I'VE BEEN KICKED BY BETTER HORSES each get a second colorway.
Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. Wear one to the barn, or give one to the farrier everybody there is waiting on.
