Crokinole Hats

Crokinole can put an astonishing amount of pride into a very small movement. National Crokinole Association rules allow a disc to be struck with one or more fingers, and a scoring twenty must lie flat, completely inside the central hole. That precise little target is the starting point for these hats: twenty-twenty vision, a born-to-flick badge, and an extravagant question about how much athletic pride one finger can carry. The vocabulary changes with the table. Canada's History records biscuits, discs, pucks and blocks as regional names for the pieces, with pegs also called bumpers or pins. The rules are just as particular: when opposing discs are present, contact must happen directly or through another friendly disc. Even the chair matters, with some part of the shooter's posterior touching the seat and every chair leg on the floor. There is a world beyond the home board, too. The June 7, 2025 World Championship used 152 boards during singles and welcomed entrants from Japan, the UK, the Netherlands, sixteen US states and seven Canadian provinces.
