Corgi Hats

Corgi is Welsh for "dwarf dog", and the breed was built in Wales as a cattle drover, which explains both the herding instinct and the legs. Queen Elizabeth II owned more than 30 of them over her reign, the first, Susan, a gift on her 18th birthday. The AKC has recognized the Pembroke and the Cardigan as separate breeds since 1934, and Welsh legend says fairies once used corgis to pull their coaches. Corgi owners have since built a vocabulary of their own. Dictionary.com says sploot, the belly-down, hind-legs-flat pose, is "especially associated with Welsh corgis", and the loaf is the compact lying pose that goes with it. The butt is the centre of the genre: a Walmart tee says "Corgi Butts Drive Me Nuts", there are Corgi Butt Strut socks, and there is a whole book called The Little Book of Big Corgi Butts. Owners also describe living in a snow globe of fur. These Corgi Hats take that vocabulary seriously. Two badges name the owner, and the rest cover the butt, the loaf, the sploot, the fur and the legs, with the strongest lines in a second colorway. Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat, for the owner who already knows what a sploot is.
