Color Guard & Winter Guard Hats

Color guard is the section of the show that gets watched while the band gets listened to. Guard members toss and spin flags, rifles and sabres, and the tricks are not small: one sport explainer describes catching a flag after tossing it 15 feet in the air. Rifles are wooden and wrapped in white tape, and when a school paper asked how often guard members hit themselves with their equipment, a senior captain answered "every single day." Winter guard takes the same skills indoors, set to pre-recorded music in gyms and auditoriums. The 2026 WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio, put the guard events on April 9-11, with hundreds of color guards on the program. This collection puts that pride on a dad hat. COLOR GUARD and WINTER GUARD are the plain badges, FLAG SPINNER names the job, and FLAGS RIFLES SABRES lists the equipment. The sentence designs carry the bits: dropping it and calling it choreography, spinning a pole in a sequin suit, taking a rifle to the face and still smiling, a toss that is higher than the GPA, and the member who is not in the band but is the show. That last line echoes the freshman who told her school paper that a lot of them are just "the flags." Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat.
