The internet did the rest. Posts about a defaulted burrito loan, a mozzarella sticks loan, and Collateralized Burrito Obligations spread until the Financial Times story about Klarna's Q1 2025 net loss of $99 million drew 12.8 million views on a single tweet. Klarna's own "Pay in 4" launched in 2019: four equal payments made every two weeks. These hats wear that joke with a straight face. Two badges name the product, BUY NOW PAY LATER and PAY IN 4. The sentence designs carry the bit: BURRITO LOAN, six pay-in-4s running at once, being underwater on mozzarella sticks, asking whether the groceries can go on Klarna, and a set of Collateralized Burrito Obligations for the true financial engineer. BURRITO LOAN and the mozzarella line each get a second colorway. Adobe reported that Cyber Monday 2025 hit a record $14.25 billion online, with over $1 billion of it driven by buy now pay later.
