This collection opens with the plain badges, BORICUA and PUERTO RICO, then moves through the words that actually get shouted: WEPA as the all-purpose exclamation, PA'LANTE as the one-word call to keep moving, and BORICUA HASTA LA MUERTE as the flag claim with no hedge in it. LA ISLA DEL ENCANTO carries the island's own nickname, and DE PUERTO RICO PA'L MUNDO carries the phrase itself. COQUI names the tiny tree frog whose nighttime call is the sound every Puerto Rican recognizes as home, while NUYORICAN and DIASPORICAN claim the stateside identity directly instead of leaving it unnamed. ARROZ CON GANDULES puts the family-table dish on a hat, and SE FUE LA LUZ OTRA VEZ gives the one shared grievance, the power going out again, its due, aimed at the utility rather than anyone wearing the hat.
