Arkansas Hats

Arkansas has a few things it will argue about in public. The first is cheese dip. In December 2016 Arkansas Senate Republicans ran a blind taste test between Heights Taco & Tamale of Little Rock and Uncle Julio's of Dallas, picked the Arkansas cheese dip over Texas queso, and a senator announced "Better luck next time." The origin is still disputed: Arkansas points to Mexico Chiquito in North Little Rock in 1935, Texas claims queso from 1900, and the first World Cheese Dip Championship was held in North Little Rock in 2010. The second is the name. State law pronounces it Ar-kan-saw but spells it Arkansas, a compromise from 1881. The third is the Hog Call, which Razorback fans open with a long Woo and finish with Sooie and a fist pump. These Arkansas hats carry that voice. ARKANSAS and HOT SPRINGS are the badges. The lines include THE NATURAL STATE, WOO PIG SOOIE, ARKANSAW, the cheese dip rivalry, THE OZARKS ARE MY BACKYARD, and a deadpan hog call at weddings and funerals. CHOCOLATE GRAVY AND BISCUITS honors the Ozark Sunday-breakfast tradition of cocoa gravy over biscuits, and FLOAT THE BUFFALO nods to the Buffalo River, the first US National River at 135 miles. Every design is custom embroidered on an unstructured dad hat. Wear one to the game or the river.
