Cashiers are timed on items scanned per minute, customers bag their own groceries, and about 90 percent of the inventory is Aldi-exclusive private label. When Aldi held a merch drop in Chicago on March 20, 2024, fans lined up before the 8:30am opening for sneakers and quarter keychains, and Aldi itself jokes about the habits with posts like "Little Miss Forgets Her Quarter". These hats are for the shopper.
